TL;DR

Start.io is advancing its algorithm-driven platform with new AI infrastructure that enables more intelligent, real-time decision-making at scale. The system can evaluate multiple strategies simultaneously, continuously learn from live auction signals, and deploy updated models in hours rather than weeks. This means better outcomes for publishers and buyers through smarter pricing, richer signals, and ongoing optimisation. This foundation also enables Start.io’s next phase: agentic AI that autonomously tests strategies and adapts to changing market conditions.

Start.io has always been an algorithm-driven platform. Every auction we’ve run has been shaped by models that score, rank, and optimise in real time. What we’re announcing today is what comes next, an AI infrastructure that lets those algorithms operate at a scale and speed that wasn’t previously possible, and opens the door to a new class of agentic capabilities.

Building on strength – Algorithms have always been our edge

For years, the intelligence behind Start.io’s platform has been one of its defining advantages. Our algorithms evaluate inventory quality, predict win probabilities, optimise bid prices, and balance supply and demand, all in the fraction of a second it takes an auction to clear.

That foundation is real, and it’s battle-tested across billions of daily auctions. What we’ve been working on is how to make it dramatically more powerful, by giving our algorithms more room to operate, more signals to work with, and the ability to evolve continuously without friction.

The next leap, More alternatives explored. More decisions made right.

The new AI infrastructure we’ve built is purpose-designed to multiply the number of intelligent decisions happening across our platform at any given moment. Where previously a single algorithm would evaluate one path, our platform can now explore many alternatives simultaneously, testing, comparing, and selecting the best outcome in real time.

Models can be updated and deployed in hours rather than weeks. New signals flow in continuously and feed back into improving every subsequent decision. The system doesn’t just run – it evolves, auction by auction.

CapabilityWhat it means
Parallel intelligenceMultiple algorithmic paths evaluated simultaneously on every impression
Continuous evolutionModels retrain on live signals and deploy automatically — no manual cycles
Modular by designNew capabilities plug in independently — fast to test, fast to scale

Why it matters — What this means for publishers and buyers

More intelligent decisions at auction speed translate directly into better outcomes across the board.

AudienceBenefit
PublishersPricing decisions that reflect live market dynamics on every impression — continuously refined by models that learn from every auction
BuyersBid signals shaped by richer, real-time intelligence — inventory quality, competitive context, and win dynamics evaluated at scale
EveryoneA platform that compounds its advantage over time — because every outcome makes the next decision smarter

Where we’re going – The agentic era, arriving now

This infrastructure was built with a clear destination in mind: agentic AI. Systems that don’t just respond to the auction in front of them, but actively explore strategies, run experiments, and adapt, autonomously, to whatever the market is doing.

The difference between algorithmic and agentic isn’t a replacement, it’s an amplification. Our algorithms get to operate with greater autonomy, test more hypotheses, and maintain a cutting-edge advantage that compounds the longer the system runs.

“We’re giving our algorithms the infrastructure to be truly relentless – always evolving, always improving, never standing still.”

The first agentic capabilities are already in production. More are on the way, across supply optimisation, demand matching, and yield strategy.

Looking ahead – What comes next

We’re already building on this foundation. The coming months will bring new AI decision points across the auction flow, richer real-time signals, and the first wave of agentic capabilities — starting with supply and demand optimisation that learns and adapts without human intervention.

We’ll be sharing more as each capability reaches production. If you have questions about what this means for your specific partnership, reach out to your account team , they’re briefed and ready.
