What is ASO?

App store optimization, or ASO, is a set of tactics that app developers take to improve their app’s visibility in an app store’s search results, leading to higher downloads, and more efficient user acquisition and user engagement.  

Organic search remains one of the major drivers of mobile app downloads. There are several major factors that can improve an app’s app store optimization:  

  • Descriptive app names  
  • Attractive app icons  
  • Accurate keywords  
  • Well-written descriptions of an app 
  • Attractive screenshots and other visual assets   

App store optimization is an ongoing process that requires continuous monitoring, analysis, testing and refinement to adapt to changing market trends, user behavior and app store algorithms.
